The diploma is issued by the Registrar’s Office, not by the Graduate Division. For all questions regarding the diploma, please contact the Registrar’s Office at registrar@uci.edu. Diplomas are special ordered and not produced by UCI. The diploma is typically available 4-6 months after the end of the quarter in which you earned the degree.

Diplomas can have either your legal or preferred name. You may set your preferred name via StudentAccess. Requests for a preferred name may be submitted only by the student.
- This must be done before you graduate / before the diploma is ordered.
Obtaining your Diploma
When diplomas are available, students will be notified via their UCI email address once the diploma is available:
- You can pick up your diploma at the Registrar’s Office
- You can authorize another individual to pick up your diploma
- You can make arrangements with the Registrar to mail your diploma to you (Diplomas are not automatically mailed.)
