Your student account is updated as changes to your status are made. However, processing time, quarterly deadlines and set administrative actions happening throughout the quarter at various times can lead to delays in updated information. For example, students are assessed fees for the upcoming quarter in week 6 but do not submit final degree paperwork to graduate until week 10. Based on this, you will have an assessment on your account for the quarter following your graduation.
The good news is, in most cases once all processing and reporting is complete the issue resolves itself. However, this may also occur when required items to complete a process are missing and the student is unaware their request is pending action. Examples of this could be:
- DocuSign forms awaiting required signatures before being submitted to Grad Division for processing
- Students still marked as a Provisional admit which needs to be cleared before the degree can be processed
- Students admitted to the Ph.D. but decide to leave with the Master’s degree without changing their degree level
