New Graduate Student Welcome and Orientation

WELCOME TO UCI!

We’re excited to be among the first to welcome you to the Anteater family! We can’t wait to show you all the great things UCI has to offer at our Graduate Welcome & Orientation! Your orientation will be made up of seven online modules (including a bonus module for international students beginning July 15th!), culminating with an in-person resource fair on September 30th.

Module 1 (Preparing for Your Arrival at UC Irvine) will be unlocked beginning July 15th, while the rest of the modules (2-7) will be unlocked beginning August 26th. All modules can be taken at your own pace throughout the year. This orientation event will focus on assisting new graduate students successfully navigate through their graduate journey at UCI. The program will cover a variety of topics including professional development, academic success, health and wellness, and student life. Whether you are curious about graduate support services, how to begin your professional development, or maintaining a healthy graduate student lifestyle, Graduate Welcome & Orientation is the first place to gain valuable information to positively impact your graduate experience. As a new GradEater, you are already registered, so make sure to save the important dates below and visit our Graduate Welcome & Orientation page to get started! Stay tuned for more information as the date gets close.

Please note: no registration is required for this event. An invitation to access the module has been sent to your UCI email address. Make sure your UCI NetID and UCI email address is setup to access modules. For any questions, please email gradorientation@uci.edu.

Being a graduate student can get some getting used to. Not to worry though, in this module we’ll tell you about the different funding/financial aid opportunities we have available, give you your grad school checklist, talk about the Office of Equal Opportunity and Diversity (OEOD), Office of Research, and International Center.

PROFESSIONAL SUCCESS (Open September 2nd)
Your professional success is important to us, afterall that’s why you attend Grad School right? In this module we’ll talk about the Graduate and Postdoctoral Research Center (GPSRC), Division of Career Pathways, Applied Innovation, and Division of Teaching Excellence and Innovation. All of these places are dedicated to giving you the skills you need to professionally succeed!

In this module we’ll show you the many resources we have available to aid in your personal growth and health. As a UCI graduate student you have access to places like our Counseling Center, Student Health Center, Disability Services Center, and much more.
