The Graduate Council and the Graduate Division work together to establish and administer policies on graduate education at the University of California, Irvine. The Graduate Council delegates decision-making in certain areas to the Graduate Dean. Close cooperation between the Dean of the Graduate Division and the Chair of the Graduate Council ensures that graduate standards at UCI are upheld and the quality of graduate programs are protected and promoted.
GRADUATE POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
Graduate Policies and Procedures provides detailed information on academic policies regarding completion of degree requirements, master’s and doctoral committees, examinations and foreign language requirements, along with general regulations concerning graduate courses, standards of scholarship, disqualification, appeal, leave of absence, in-absentia registration, withdrawal, normal degree progress, and other matters.
