Giving to Graduate Division
The University of California, Irvine Graduate Division is working to realize our shared “brilliant future” by creating a diverse graduate-level workforce focused on real and meaningful impact. Our passion is to break down the barriers to participation in graduate education. Help us recruit and support the best students and foster their success as researchers, innovators, teachers and entrepreneurs.

Funding Priorities
To help entice outstanding admitted doctoral or M.F.A. students who have received competitive admissions offers from other excellent institutions.
To provide quarterly fellowships to students nearing completion of the dissertation, so they can forego non-research related employment and concentrate on completing their dissertations.
Awarded annually at the Office of Inclusive Excellence's Mentoring for Achievement and Excellence event, this fellowship is intended to honor Tom Angell’s contributions as the UCI Graduate Counselor to graduate student wellness and retention. Awards are open to graduate students, faculty, and postdoctoral scholars. Award recipients demonstrate outstanding mentorship by going above and beyond their normal duties to create new opportunities to mentor UCI students.
Former Graduate Division Dean Frances Leslie had a vision years ago to create the DECADE mentor program. Since its inception, over 115 faculty members have served in this role, committing to diversity, equity, and inclusion – and to ensuring an inclusive environment for graduate success.
Beginning in 2019, the Office of Inclusive Excellence solicited nominations from across campus for the DECADE Mentor Excellence Award, and has named this award after the woman whose vision made this all possible: Former Graduate Dean Frances Leslie.
The Carol Connor Faculty Mentor Award pays tribute to former equity advisor and Chancellor's Professor of Education Carol McDonald Connor from the UCI School of Education. The award recognizes former and current equity advisors in pioneering, innovative and evidence-based peer mentoring and consultations to advance diversity, equity and inclusion at UCI.
