Overview

The AGS Conference Travel Grants, provided by the Associated Graduate Students and managed by the Graduate Division, offer financial support for graduate students to attend academic conferences. These grants acknowledge the vital role of conference participation in a student's academic and professional growth, aiming to enrich the graduate experience.

Award Information

Ten recipients will be selected to receive a $1,000 stipend to be used towards conference travel.

Application Deadline:  Monday, March 3 by 5:00pm PST

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be in good academic standing and have completed at least 3 quarters of graduate coursework at UCI
  • Must be a current student during time of conference attendance
  • The proposed conference travel must be done before the end of Winter 2026
  • Must satisfy the minimum eligibility criteria for fellowships

 

Priority consideration given to applicants that are presenting their research, either through oral presentation, poster or similar format

Application Process

Students apply directly.

In addition to some pre-application and biographical information, applicants should prepare to submit the following:

  1. Research Abstract (in layman’s terms) – 300 word limit
  2. Describe the importance and relevance of this conference to your research
  3. Explain your goal(s) for the proposed conference (ex, are you there to present? network? etc.)
  4. How will this conference further your academic and/or professional career
  5. Current CV
  6. Provide a proposed budget for travel costs

 

Stipulations

  • Students should review the terms and conditions to ensure that they are eligible to receive fellowship or scholarship funding before applying.
  • For students already receiving financial aid, acceptance of additional funding may affect their overall financial need-based support package. In such cases, students are strongly encouraged to consult with the UCI Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships.
